THE VILLA
Hi-ku-me is surrounded by a large, 1500 sq.m. garden with an abundance of tropical plants and trees, together with several small ponds that combine to create a traditional Balinese atmosphere. There is even a small orchard of local fruit that is for you to choose to taste at your leisure. Your access to Hi-ku-me is via a quaint courtyard generously completed with palm trees and sculptures. The villa's open construction and its privacy form a contrasting combination of space yet seclusion. Its harmonious colors are both intriguing and calming. The owners love and appreciate excellent art. They have decorated their Balinese home with carefully selected examples from contemporary local artists, reflecting the different styles of Bali with those of the rest of Indonesia. Their aim is to ensure that your stay is an extra-special experience - true "home-away-from-home"!
The spacious, open-air living room, apart from having a fabulous view, is modern and attractive and has a TV set with a disc player for relaxing in the evenings. Central is a large wooden dining table that is a perfect social focal point. Each of the two large, well-appointed, air-conditioned bedrooms has en suite, Balinese-style exterior bathrooms and, and remain private whilst having fabulous views. For those who love rising for the quiet dawn, you will have easy access from your comfortable bed to the tranquil garden. The ample, air-conditioned kitchen is well-equipped and convenient.

THE LUMBUNG
The Lumbung, situated directly by the beach and built in 2010, has a similar shape to the little barns that the local farmers use for storing their rice. This Lumbung , however, has a few rooms strictly reserved for recreational use! On the ground floor there is an open space to relax or, perhaps, to meditate or to have your meals served. It is also a wonderfully peaceful place to read a good book.
From there you have a complete view of the Sea - with the sounds of the gentle surf, of the adjacent little river, and of the tropical birds as the background lullaby.
On the first floor you will find an attractive space suitable, perhaps, for a soothing massage or even an extra guest bed. Its roomy balcony offers a breathtaking, unobstructed view over the Bali Sea.

THE STAFF
The long-term and dedicated staff consists of a cook / housekeeper, gardener and security guard. The cook is excellent and can buy and prepare for you both Balinese and Western food or, if you prefer to arrange your own food, you will find the kitchen fully equipped. She will also take care of the villa's laundry and - for a small fee - your own personal laundry, too. The security guard is even more than able to provide you with an excellent, soothing (and very reasonably-priced)Balinese massage. An English-speaking HelpDesk is always available to solve any administrative items or, perhaps, issues of a more serious nature. Able assistance is always readily to hand to ensure Hi-ku-me is a "home-away-from-home".
